Dion Frischer, PhDPersonal Statement
I enjoy helping people both with their problems and with their efforts to grow into the most loving, autonomous, and effective people that they can be. Trained at the University of Michigan as a clinical psychologist, I believe that I have developed a responsive and flexible therapy style with a psychodynamic foundation that also includes interpersonal, developmental, and cognitive-behavioral principles as needed. Over the past 30+ years, I have helped people with loneliness, anxiety, depression, anger, shame, guilt, and sadness, as well as with problems with relationships, work, finances, health, academic achievement, and many other issues.
I tend to focus on positive as well as negative emotions and find that many people have not had enough support in experiencing and sustaining excitement, passion, love, pleasure, and joy.
