We come into the world ready to connect. It is through our first relationships that we develop our beliefs about ourselves, others and life. Since life is complex and many factors affect those significant relationships as they develop, the patterns that evolve can become entrenched and problematic. Loss, small ”t” and capital “T” traumas can also complicate things. Therapy is one way of addressing the negative beliefs and past traumas, especially when they show up as self-defeating behaviors or depression and anxiety. My intention as a therapist is to create a safe space. From there, we would work together to identify what isn’t working, acknowledge the strength that got you through, release the old, stuck stuff and discover new beliefs that allow for a life rich in connection, creativity, satisfaction and delight.
